Commonwealth Figure Skating Club is dedicated to furthering the sport of figure skating. With a broad range of memberships, there's a membership that's right for you.
Full/Family: USFS home club membership for the skater who plans to develop his/her figure skating skills beyond the USFS Learn to Skate curriculum. Full/Family membership applies to all skaters in an immediate family, residing at the same address who are under the age of 21. Skaters in this membership class are required to contract a minimum of one freestyle session per week, per skater or purchase the equivalent in coupon books. This membership category will accrue seniority for each skater and entitles all members to full club privileges. Voting rights are limited to the senior member on the membership, with one vote per family.
Full/Single: USFS home club membership for the skater who plans to develop his/her figure skating skills beyond the USFS Learn to Skate curriculum and is above age 18. Skaters in this membership class are required to contract a minimum of one freestyle session per week or purchase the equivalent in coupon books. This membership category will accrue seniority and is entitled to full club privileges, including voting rights.
Collegiate: USFS home club membership designed in accordance with USFS guidelines to accommodate the needs of degree-earning individuals who are trying to balance the pursuit of figure skating with academic achievements. Membership is available to anyone currently enrolled in a degree-earning program. A Collegiate member retains full club privileges. If over 21 years, the member is considered the senior member and has the right to vote, hold office and enjoy privileges of the club. Should they be under the age of 18 years, a senior member sponsorship is required.
Loop League: Introductory home club junior membership that is designed to help the skater who is transitioning from a USFS Learn to Skate program into a more ambitious figure skating development track. The Loop League junior membership is a single year opportunity, as the membership includes significant discounts on ice sessions and other standard membership costs as a goodwill gesture to support skaters who are tentative about full membership commitment. The Loop League fee structure includes one ice session per week and many other CFSC club privileges, including pick-up ice sessions at member rates and participation in club exhibitions and shows. Loop leaguers are not eligible for USFS testing beyond the Basic Skills Test Track.
Alumni: Alumni membership requires a previous two year membership with the CFSC and is designed for the skater who wishes to continue to pursue their interest in figure skating and/or support the Commonwealth Figure Skating Club. Alumni members do not accrue seniority, shall not vote or hold office. Alumni members are entitled to pick-up ice, CFSC test sessions and social events at member rates.
Associate: Membership for the skater who holds a primary membership with another USFS Club, but also wishes to belong to CFSC. This membership does not accrue seniority, but does entitle the skater to member rates for practice ice sessions and CFSC test sessions and competitions. Associate members may contract up to two hours per week maximum on a first come first serve basis after home club members have submitted ice contracts.
Social: This membership is for the non-skating member who wishes to support Commonwealth Figure Skating Club. Social members are welcome to participate in social events, but do not accrue seniority, may not vote, hold office or have any other privileges of the club.
Affiliate: Any visiting Canadian Figure Skating Association (CFSA) or International Skating Union (ISU) club skater may utilize the facilities of the CFSC upon approval of the Board of Governors or its designate. The visiting skater may be charged a reasonable fee for such use. Affiliate members will pay a non-member pick up rate for walk-on privileges. Walk-on privileges may be restricted at the discretion of the Board.
Please note CFSC may offer additional membership levels, at the discretion of the Board of Governors, as need warrants, (e.g., affiliate, synchronized team, military, honorary, etc.). If you have interest in other membership levels, please contact the CFSC Board of Governors at board@commonwealthfsc.com
